Tip to make training your reactive dog manageable

This is a tip that worked for me when I was working my dog through reactivity. I am not a trainer but this is something that helps me better manage my dog's reactivity, but it may not work for everyone.

When working through his reactivity to other dogs, having an abundance of space and the ability to maneuver space around us works in our favour. I can walk away or move him further should other dogs come too close where it stresses him to the point where he could react.

Guiding my dog to walk paths that makes it easier for me to spot triggers early and manage them more confidently means I can better set him up for success. Because when I am calm and collected, so is he, and when I can create space between him and the trigger, he can remain calm and within his threshold and not react to a trigger.
