HOW TO GET STARTED - YOGA FOR BEGINNERS โก๏ธ
When I started yoga I read that to access the benefits of it spiritually & physically you needed to practice it everyday. So I decided to embark on a journey.. practice yoga everyday 1 year ๐ โ now the only way I knew I would stick with it was if I came up with a plan that made it sustainable for me! That meant classes on YouTube, so I could add them into my day no matter what! ๐ฒ
As a beginner yogi๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ (& someone who had a poor relationship with exercise) I implemented a ton of short stretchy flows to help stay consistent & not dread moving my body.
This looked like โฌ๏ธ
๐ Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun
โข 30-40 minute slow stretchy yoga class
๐Tue/Thurs/Sat
โข 20-30 minute Strong Yoga Class

โข By keeping my classes short I was easily able to fit it into my daily routine โ๏ธ + I was able to build up to actually WANTING to take longer classes๐คฉ
โข By using an โevery-other dayโ technique for those stronger classes I didnโt resent the exercise/movement๐๐ผ
โข The stretchy flows helped me in the strong flows because I could get into the poses much easier when my body wasnโt so tight ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
From my experience, now 3 years later.. I donโt think you HAVE to be doing yoga every single day to see the benefits. If everyday is intimidating try 3-5 times a week instead. BUT, this commitment to my practice was pivotal for me. & Iโd still recommend embarking on this journey if you feel called to challenge your discipline & build more self trust & confidence when you stick with a long term goal!๐๐ผ
