if you pay me then I might…. else NEVER AGAIN!!! 🚧

we all had those moments in our life where we think to ourselves, “never would I want to do this ever again….” 🙈🙊🙉

this exact thought came to mind when I found myself being caught in the weekend road jam as we were making our way from Singapore to Johor Bahru, Malaysia via the Woodlands Causeway. & here’s my experience:

📍Singapore > Johor Bahru

🥱 TIME CHECK: SAT 4:20 AM

Knowing that it’s one of the most popular routes, we took precaution and woke up as early as 4.20am…

😢 TIME CHECK: SAT 5:01 AM

BUT!! only to find ourselves queuing at the cross junction right before the customs…. the stretch of road is approx. 400m to reach the customs, but this supposed 1min drive took us good 30 mins to reach to get our passports stamped!

😤 TIME CHECK: SAT 7:11 AM

deffo not the best way to kickstart our malaysia road trip!! and I reckon the worst part about this is having to practice patience and wait it out till you get to the end of the tunnel — but imagine having this extra 2h to do something else that you’d liked!!

📍Johor Bahru > Seremban > Johor Bahru

We spent the weekend at JB and Seremban to visit some relatives, shopping and even a massage to pamper ourselves. Tho there were couple of road jams at certain times of the day, it was still within reasonable limits…. that said! when it comes to going back home to Singapore — the dread is real!!

📍Johor Bahru > Singapore

😰 TIME CHECK: SUN 5:07PM

I think I’m mentally ready to embrace the jam!!

😓 TIME CHECK: SUN 6:30 PM

OMG why are we still stuck at almost the same spot….. what’s happening!! is that a road closure?! is this the right lane to Q?

😤 TIME CHECK: SUN 7:00 PM

I need to pee soon, are we there yet?! why are the other cars moving faster than us…. should we cut to the other side?

🤬 TIME CHECK: SUN 8:30 PM

somebody…. just please get me out of here!!!! I’m so tired and hungry and grumpy!!! stop cutting my Q… do we give up now?

😫 TIME CHECK: SUN 10:07 PM

home sweet home…… I’m so glad to be back in Singapore!!! never am I taking efficiency and clear roads for granted ever again, and nor I going to go back to JB ever again!!!

also… did I forget to mention earlier that our brains have a tendency to erase the bad memories?! haha and well, one might say that she/he will never do something again, but you’ll prolly find me back at the causeway jam again 😆⚠️🚧
