*LONG POST AHEAD*

I have recently completed my 200h Yoga Teacher Training with Tirisula Yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️ 😊

Just thought of sharing a bit more details on the course; how much, how long & how’s the breakdown like. So for any interested practitioners (new or experienced), or simply if you’re curious how it goes, this is what went down for me~

For starters, I went for February 2023 intake, weekday intensive at Paya Lebar studio & it costs me $1,800. The TTC price have increased recently to $1,980-$2,480.

Difference between full time intensive & weekends TTC are - Full time 60h intensive 8am-2pm on weekdays Monday to Friday over 2 weeks, whereas weekend TTC are held on Sat & Sun instead.

As shared previously in my self care post, I quit my job & started my 200h TTC in Feb, I opt for full time 60h intensive. Then I travelled, & completed my remaining 140h in June, took the exam & completed all 200h by end of June :)

The breakdown of the 200h are;

- 60h Theory & Practical. This is where the “main course” is; physical practice, learning the 8 limbs of yoga & anatomy. It’s filled with lots of information & SWEAT a ton while practicing & ingraining all the Ashtanga poses! Tbh 60h of this isn’t enough for me 🥴

- 10h internship. Had to shadow/be in the Master’s class to see how the class go, help to adjust students or anything else which the class needs.

- 20h reading & homework. Reading materials on various topics are given & homework will be given by Master on every class.

- 20h project work. For my project, there were multiple topics given, & we had to do a total of 10 Instagram posting researching & covering on the the topics we selected.

- 30h home posture. This is own self practice, so anytime we practice poses on our own, we clock it in~

- 20h self teaching. This is where the learning takes place again, these 20h was a fulfilling journey for me. I’ll share more on my journey in a separate post :) but yes you can teach whoever you like! My batch teaches each other, I taught my friends, boyfriend & colleagues too.

- 30h classes. This is basically any classes in Tirisula. I usually take this chance to have my own practice, or go with the intention to watch/learn from other teachers. Will be sharing more on this on a separate post too!

- Lastly 10h exam & preparation. The exam (physical & theory) is 4h, the remaining 6h I clock in when I do revision/practicing exam poses. If you’d like more details on this, do comment! It’s quite a hefty one as well.

The 60h intensive physical & theory classes are on a fixed schedule, so we have to attend it as scheduled. The remaining 140h are flexible, you clock in at your own pace~ some of my classmate completed within 2months. I took 4months, & some are still clocking in their hours, so it’s really your own pace, own journey. But of course, the longer you take the exam, the more things you may forget ><

Overall, my 200h YTTC have been quite a roller coaster! I’m glad the 140h are flexible because I travelled for 2weeks after my 60h intensive & started my new job (which I set some time for myself to settle in). I’d say that you just have to be disciplined enough to clock in your hours, & reach out to people to give free yoga classes for self-teaching 😊

My experience in Tirisula Yoga was of course a positive one! It feels homely~ My batch has 6 students in total (8 is max) so it was the right amount of people for me to loosen up to (I’m an introvert). Most of the teachers are nice too & gave some tips which helped me in my teaching 🤍

I’ll be sharing more on my key takeaways from my YTTC in another post soon. If you read up till this point, thank you for reading ☺️☺️ I wish you all the best on the mat 🌱❣️
