Beginning of Our Wet Works Phase!

We're moving forward with our renovation journey—after most of the hackings, it's time for the wet works! This phase involves applying a waterproofing membrane and conducting a water ponding test. This crucial step ensures there’s no water leakage before we start laying down the tiles.

Niche for the shower is also up! Previously, there was an awkward gap below the window in the toilet. So we decided to just make use of the gap and build the niche there.

The opening in the service yard is sealed up! According to the contractor, it was for the aircon compressor last time! Because the opening shares the same wall as the master bedroom, we decided to seal it up!

💡 Pro Tip: I recently learned that you can save some money by excluding the water ponding test from your interior designer’s quotation and paying the contractors directly. This approach helps you avoid the markup and additional GST that usually comes with the ID's quote. We did this and saved about $700!
