Home renovation week 2 ✌🏻

Lessons learnt this week:

🧱 We had some minor issues this week with the overlaying of tiles in the bathrooms and it all stemmed from miscommunications between us, our ID and the tiling contractor. I feel that a lot of things could have been avoided if all 3 parties had met at site to go through the details. Because of the misunderstanding and miscommunication, the tiler had to retile some parts of the toilet.

🧱 I’m not sure how the timeline usually works for this, but we only confirmed the nitty-gritty stuff for our bathrooms (e.g. how high the half-wall should be, where the gradient of the step-down slope should start, placement of half-wall, etc.) when the tiling work started. Which I think was a little late and last minute?? It would have been better if we discussed the details at site before the tiling work starts. But we were unaware that we needed that discussion so we didn’t ask our ID about it, and our ID didn’t mention to us until the work started. So if your ID hasn’t confirm any details before the work started, maybe it’s good to give them a nudge?

🧱 Don’t bother keeping the place clean before the renovation, it’ll get dirty anyway 😂
