my WEIGHT WAS an insecurity 💔😔

For yearssss, my biggest insecurity was my weight. I struggled to lose it and felt like my body was holding me back from truly loving myself. Last month I had weight loss surgery to help with that journey but here’s the truth- I learned to love myself before any changes.

🌸 At my highest weight, these are the things I used to to build my self-love 🤎

✨🤞🏾 Positive Affirmations: I spoke kindly to myself, even on days I didn’t believe it. Little by little, it changed my mindset. This has helped me sooo much! check out the 3rd slide to see a few Affirmations 😌🤎

✨💪🏾🪞Body Appreciation: I focused on what my body could do rather than how it looked. Doing mirror work such as looking in the mirror and talking to myself! Boost myself up‼️ 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Self-Care: Taking care of myself with changing the way I was eating like working in my calorie intake.. maintaining a better relationship with food, skincare, and SLEEP! I think sometimes we take sleeping for granted but it helps in many ways.. especially the mind and the way we function daily 😴🛏

Confidence First: I wore clothes that made me feel beautiful, not just what society told me to wear. 🖕🏾I still keep it very cutesy, very demure, very mindful 😂 but I changed my looks a little .. a little glo up! 🙌🏾😌

💗 I Learned that loving yourself isn’t about the number on the scale.. it’s about accepting who you are, right now. having Weight Loss Surgery was a step for me, but self-love was the foundation that made everything else possible. 💖
