AVOID this mistake when renting a car in Jeju

This costly mistake led us to pay 2x the amount for car rental in Jeju (there was a silver lining!)

We had done it all right for booking our rental car in Jeju ✨

1. Booked a car online far in advance (please do this!)

2. Selected a right-sized car - an affordable small SUV that could fit 2 pax comfortably and more importantly, fit easily into parking lots

3. Researched tips on how to drive on the right (wrong) side of the road

But made one costly mistake! ❌

We put the wrong arrival time 🙃

As we had not booked our domestic flight from Seoul to Jeju before renting the car, we put an early 7.30 am pick-up time to ensure we could *chope* the car. However, our final flight landing time was at 1pm. Right as we landed, we called the car rental company announcing our arrival, only to find out they had cancelled our reservation due to no-show 🥲

Luckily the cancellation was free, but unfortunately all the cheaper cars were no longer available and we had to rent a much larger 4WD SUV @ $440 (2x the price we were going to pay originally) 🚗>> 🚙

No matter, we brushed this off an early mishap and worne off all the bad luck jujus for this trip at the get-go, so the rest of our trip was amazing! (More to come)

Silver lining was I definitely had a lot of leg room to spare in this big boy :) Highly recommend for quick car naps
