If you have visited Jeju and Busan, you might wanna try exploring cities near Seoul.

Jeonju is another city, 2.5 hrs away from Seoul. We took an express bus there. Bus is clean and comfy, driver do stop halfway for 15 mins toilet break.

We stayed in a hanok, inside the Jeonju Hanok Village.

Our intention this time round was just to spend some quality time with our friends from korea that we hvn seen for years. So all we did was eat, in others words a food trip 🤣

*disclaimer, unnie is from Jeonju, so all I did was just brainlessly following the local 🤣 so this is def not the most touristy guide, just sharing what I experienced in Jeonju

Departed Seoul about 10 ish and we reached about 1pm. Once we reached, we took a taxi to the hanok village.

*tip, if you are staying in Seoul, put all your heavy stuffs there - travel LIGHT as light as u can!

Gimbap Iyagi

Followed the local to this old school eatery, unnie visited every time during her highschool. So it must be good! They have the best Jjambbong ever!!! It was so flavourful just so different from all other we had! Menus are all in Korean, you have to write and order in korean

Road View Cafe

Coffee at this nice cafe called roadview, nice cafe, drinks were ok. Cafe was located in Gaeksa, lots of shops nearby, there’s Olive Young, Uniqlo, ABC Mart…

Jeonju Gyeonggijeon Hall

After that we head to Gyeonggijeon, a historic site, near to hanok village. Smaller version or gyeongbukgong in Seoul. Lesser crowd, lots of empty spots to take photos without getting photobombed. 3000 won for their entrance fee. Oh you may also rent hanbok in the hanok village.

Gilgeoriya

Locals say must eat! Ok eat! It’s like banh mi but Korean version, stuffed with pork and some sauce

Gyodong Sibwon Bakery Jeonju Hanok Village Main Branch

Sibwon bang was good! You can actually get it in Myeongdong too but I feel like this was nicer and the cafe was nice too! But quite crowded

Gaeksa

At night, we headed out for dinner in Gaeksa. You don’t need any guide, restaurants and cafes are everywhere. When you see people, confirm good! We didn’t eat like a full meal cz we were so full, we just pop by any 2 restaurants. I can’t find the restaurant we went but link above is some where nearby within the street

Wonpyeong Sigol Pi Soondae

Koreans call it the hangover soup, soup was amazing but the soondae is a bit too much for me. If usually you don’t eat those intestine, this might not be your thing. Apparently this shop was famous among the locals, located inside Nambu Market

Nambu Market

it’s a famous market in Jeonju that has lots of eateries. Lots of street food but i didn’t get to experience any 🤣 the locals skipped this

Haru Film Jeonju Hanok Village Branch

took a photo at the photobooth in the hanok village before breakfast, when our makeup still look fresh!

Jeonju Palbokdong District Railway

Took a cab to this place, fringe tree flowers blooming along the railway

Hanguk Restaurant

Another very local restaurant, they called it Jip-bap. Like what usually koreans will eat at home, multiple banchan, a soup, steamed egg and meat and rice

Within all locations except the railway, we walked from one location to another. Longest journey was probably 15-20 minutes? But weather was good, slightly sunny so there was no issue. It’s a small city, quite easy to navigate
