21st Birthday at a Chalet

📍Venue:

We booked a chalet at CSC Loyang! If you’re looking to book a chalet, it’s best if you have relatives/ friends that have membership or a civil servant! Always ask around to get cheaper rates! In my case, my uncle is a civil servant so we booked the chalet at $286 (inclusive of GST).

🎂Cake:

I ordered my cake for $210 from Nanatang. It’s more affordable compared to other cake shops, however it can be a little sweet. It’s a 2 tier cake I got inspiration from Pinterest. If you need any cake inspiration the best place to look at is Pinterest and Instagram.

✉️Invitation Card:

I designed my e invitation card through Canva, it has many templates you can choose from! I went with a glamorous card with balloon and sparkly design and changed the color to gold as my party decorations has gold elements too!

👗Outfit:

I bought my dress from Taobao. Remember to shop for the dress in advance if you’re buying online! I had 2 dresses in mind, one from taobao and one from SHEIN. In fact I ordered both but I eventually wore the taobao one. My taobao dress was about $50 only! It’s a really pretty mango color and really suited my party decorations. At first I was hesitant to buy it because I didn’t want to spend $50 if the dress was of low quality. But when I received it, it looked really pretty and the quality was good! I think it’s a cop:)

✨Deco:

I bought my deco from Taobao (remember to shop for deco at least 2 month in advance so that you can receive the delivery in time and order other last min items if you need). Also think of what you want to put on the table! I had flowers and lights on my table to make it look aesthetic. I bought 0304 lights which is the actual date of my birthday now I can use it every year! :) Think of things you need to put the deco on! (Ladder, strings, scissors, Blu tack etc. you need to buy these if you don’t have them at home!) also remember to bring a small ladder to the venue especially if you don’t have any tall adults to help out! We took at least 3h to decorate so don’t come too late for check in!

🥘Food:

Think of food at least 2 months in advance. Decide if you want BBQ, catering, delivery or in my case home cooked food! I don’t really recommended catering as you may have to spend a lot on catering. CSC required an additional $100 to be paid to them if you want catering unless you choose from the short list of catering they recommend. In the end I was thinking of BBQ or delivery but my mum managed to persuade me to let them cook! So if you want home cooked food remember to have a list of food and buy them the day before (so your fridge would not be full of food). It takes a lot of effort to cook so much food in a day so don’t forget to thank your relatives/family/helper!

🚕Transport:

If you or someone who’s helping out have a car it would be the best! In my case we took 2 rounds of grab. The 1st round to bring decos n other essential items there. The 2nd round to bring food cooked by my helper there.

🀄️Activities:

I booked a mahjong table but in the end I forgot to take it (thankfully they refunded me) so in the end we used towels on the table to play mahjong! I had a playlist of songs that I played on the Bluetooth speaker and other than that we just talked and laughed and of course we slept (me and my friends are the sleeping kind haha).

▪️Oil cleanser (I use this to double cleanse instead of makeup remover)
