1. Floss (daily)

Flossing is your first line of defense against bad breath. It helps remove food particles and plaque from between your teeth and along the gum line where your toothbrush might not reach effectively, but you knew this already! When these particles are left to linger, they can lead to bacterial growth, which can produce odors and contribute to bad breath.

2. Swish with a peroxide and water mix

Rinsing with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water (diluted) can be help so much in reducing bad breath. Peroxide has antibacterial properties that can help kill the bacteria responsible for producing odors in your mouth. After doing this step, you will notice that you hardly have bad breath anymore, before even brushing!

3. Brush teeth & tongue scrape

This is usually the step that everyone does, but tend to skip the others, so I know I don’t have to say much about this one. I’ll just say that brushing your teeth is a fundamental step in your oral care routine. It removes food particles, bacteria, and plaque from the surface of your teeth. Brushing also helps stimulate saliva production, which is your natural defense against bad breath since it helps wash away odor-causing substances. Scrape your tongue next!

4. Swish with mouth wash

Alas, the final step! Mouthwash is like the finishing touch to your oral care routine. It leaves your mouth feelingand smelling fresh but can also help kill bacteria that might be lingering in hard-to-reach places (although there shouldn’t be anything left lingering after the first 3 steps)! My favorite brand is Therabreath!
