I was in a car accident… RIGHT before my wedding

On April 28th of this year at 7:45 am, I was on my way to school when I was in the scariest moment of my life. I was hit from the right side and my car went off road and rolled into a ditch. I remember collecting my breath as I tried not to lose consciousness and thanking God that I was still alive. I had so many bruises all over my body and muscular injuries that prevented me from moving my neck for weeks and lifted my right arm for days. Not to mention anytime I walked or did anything really pain shot through my body. However, by a miracle the only physical wounds I had besides the bruises were the cuts and black eye on my face and a burn on my thigh from my pants. My husband now, fiancé at the time was incredibly grateful I was still here and we both grew so much closer understanding how easily we could have never saw one another again and how we almost never made it to the wedding day. Even the officers at the scene were so grateful I had my seatbelt on because if I hadn’t, they could have come to a very different scene that morning.

I started to take and use different forms of Arnica (a homeopathic medicine that I LOVE- if you’re interested in homeopathic medicines, let me know! Would love to make a post on it!!) The tablets I was taking and my time with the heating pad eased a lot of my soreness pretty quickly! And the bruise gel I was putting on my eye and other parts of my body very quickly dissipated the bruises! Even though the better point of all this was that I was alive, I won’t pretend I didn’t panic thinking of getting married looking like Sloth from the Goonies. I thank the Lord often for my Mother-in-law for many reasons but one of them is the time she spent working in a salon and her makeup knowledge that came from that.

Thus, dermablend was recommended to me and I honestly couldn’t have imagined my bruise would completely disappear from my face!! And while it was nice not to see it in pictures, covering the bruise made me able to fully focus on my husband and enjoying the blessings of the day. It was the first time in two weeks I wasn’t riddled with anxiety

scared to drive again because my body could still feel the impact, or seeing myself in the mirror crying because all I could think of were the what-if’s. I was present, I was calm and happy, and I felt like the luckiest girl in the world!
