I experienced a wonderful lunch at Tiffin Room located at Raffles Hotel Singapore. They offer a wide menu of Indian dishes served in sweet tiffin boxes. We began our meal with the vegetarian and non-vegetarian tasting platter. The Vegetarian Tasting platter ($20) included Paneer Angara Tikka, Mastane Gucci Kebab (mushrooms) and Dahi Naryal Kebab (coconut). The paneer was delightfully soft and flavourful and the dahi kebab had a unique crunch to it that I haven't tried before. I do not eat mushrooms so didn't end up trying the gucci kebab. The Non-Vegetarian Tasting platter ($54) offered Raan-e-Tiffin (spicy grilled lamb leg), Jhinga Kebab (prawns) and Murgh Malai Tikka (creamy chicken kebab). I thoroughly enjoyed the prawns which were extremely juicy and flavourful. The murgh malai tikka was a classic, soft and creamy. The lamb was alright, a bit too overcooked for my liking but flavourful nevertheless.

For mains we were served Murgh (Chicken) Tikka Masala ($37) and Lucknowi Murgh (Chicken) Biryani ($35). The biryani was gorgeous, extremely fragrant and full of flavour, the chicken was soft and tender as well. I didn't quite enjoy the tikka masala though, there was an overpowering taste of raw tomato paste through the curry which took away from the spices.

To end our meal on a sweet note, we had some Chocolate Gulab Jamun ($12). The gulab jamun was soft, fluffy and warm and the chocolate sauce definitely added a new and unique flavour profile. There was, however, no wow factor to it and it was simply your good ol gulab jamun with some chocolate sauce over it.

Overall we had a wonderful experience, especially as the decor was stunning and we could see the attention to detail that the staff and chefs had taken the time and effort for. Food was definitely delicious and the only reason for my high standards and judgement was the high price point.
