I’m here for some glow up #GirlTalk with you ✨🛀🏼

Everyone has their own definition of glow up - some say it’s puberty, others say it’s good karma. Glowing up (inside & outside) to me basically is making improvements over certain bad habits, cultivating good ones and being the best possible version of yourself.

A glow up doesn’t have any time limit, age, and gender restriction, and definitely no solid pattern 🙅🏻‍♀️ This means the way you glow up won’t be the same as me, and that’s already one power it gives you. The rest depends on how well you spend time on yourself and how driven you are to achieve the change.

Every season is a different glow up era, but here are some consistent things that I did, or when I was trying to do from my ugly duckling era.

1. Complete your skincare routine 🧖🏻‍♀️

When I was young, my mum used to tell me ‘Don't use too many skincare products, just use a cleanser to clean off the dirt.’ While that might have worked in the past on my baby skin, it’s essential now to have a proper skincare routine and not overuse products on the face.

All these products are very light on the skin and work pretty well for me. You don’t need to use the exact products I use, but do your homework/research and find out what works best for you!

2. Start being active 🏃🏻‍♀️💨

I was in my chubby era 🫠 (was about 60++ kg) - and although I was a tall girlie, tbh I didn’t like the way I looked. Here’s the thing - you are not gonna see results beating yourself up over body image insecurities 🙅🏻‍♀️ Do something about it! No one sets a timeline that you need to lose xx kg in xx amount of time so take your time! All you gotta do is take action.

And no, working out doesn’t have to be expensive. You can read my post here where I shared my favourite youtube workout videos (strength, tone, cardio, stretch). I’ve also signed a package (read my post here ) with a clmb studio after experimenting with many trial studios in Singapore. I finally found something I like to do long term. And I run alot 🏃🏻‍♀️💨 You don’t need to run 5km/10km/20km in one shot. Start small. 2km then increase to 2.5km then 3km and so on and so forth. Each time you push yourself is a small win that is worth celebrating.

3. Do more of what makes you happy 🥰🧋💅🏻

💅🏻Enjoy monthly mani pedi? Do it.

🌮Love food? Eat well in moderation.

🛍️Love shopping? Build your wardrobe with pieces you love and will wear often and long term so you don’t find yourself with a bursting cupboard with clothes you don’t wear.

💄Want to start doing makeup but don’t know how? Watch youtube videos/tutorials. I started out like this and it took me long enough to draw that perfect wing eyeliner.

I could go on and on, but you get it. Do what you need to to build up that self-esteem and confidence in you.
