i would NEVER travel solo to hong kong 🙅‍♀️

i’ve travelled solo to so many places esp in Asia, but i will never travel to HK alone again, & these r based on my personal experiences hence it will be diff for other ppl! ‼️

𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒌𝒐𝒏𝒈:

unsafe for me both day and night

☀️daytime

was walking down tsim tsa shui, lots of crowd, many tourists etc.

stopped by this random 40+ yo man? asking me if i want to go to hotel w him IN BROAD DAYLIGHT in the middle of the street w so many people

1. nobody helped me/ stopped him

2. he had the audacity to ask me in a crowd….?

dude continued following me down the street, even when i entered the store he followed me in, i only managed to get rid of him by going to the train station & boarding a v crowded train & got off the next stop 🤯

🌑 nighttime

reached right outside my hotel lobby and this man tried to follow me in wtf??? Also no he doesn’t stay there bc the hotel actl wasn’t on the first floor & i saw him smoking from across the street when i first reached and anw he didn’t have the pass to go upstairs….? crazy 🙅‍♀️❌

also multiple times when i tried to get dinner alone at night there will be random men trying to follow me omg i look v kidnappable i think 🥲🥲

anw some tips to keep you safe even if u decide to solo travel to HK:

1. get travel insurance (sorry i’m practical, if smth happens to me i better be insured 😭)

2. make sure someone at home is keeping track of your LIVE location (🍎if you are using apple, set up Find My and send keep location on to your friend/family)

3. order food delivery at night (since it seems i can’t get dinner safely in peace LOL)

4. try to find other friends/ family who might at least be in the country you are in (in case u need to call them for emergency!! 📞)

but personally i would never go there solo as a female again LOL i just had a personal bad experience, but maybe it might be ok for others 🥲
