love me a cafe open till late w solid mains 🤝😩

while most of us go to cafe hop for the vibes, there are just some days when you really need a comforting meal to go with it — and i just found #MyGoTo spot for days like that (especially if you're popping over late!) i visited the tiramisu hero recently for a quick catch-up after work and it was quite the experience.. the last time i visited was probably years ago before i even entered uni 🤡 so it was kind of nostalgic, but also really nice — especially since it was quite quiet in the evening. my biggest takeaway was this cafe doesn't play with its options — in all ways, it's truly a hero 🤤

amongst all of the cafes i've been too, tiramisu hero holds a special place in my heart for its adorable mascot 🥺 and i absolutely love how they have a physical figurine right at the entrance of the shop. the space is also super cutely decorated with the grass on the outside and the super cute ladder-bulb fixtures going on around the front of house - which makes it feel like you're literally watching the cat mascot on an adventure 🐈

the wooden interior is also super interesting, with seats that are comfortable and just make you feel like sitting back and relaxing (literally). there's also a merch corner where you can buy merchandise with the cute lil mascot on it — and honestly looking at it still has me so tempted to empty my wallet 🤑

i'm really not kidding when i say that they're not playing... with their #options by looking at their name, you'd think they only sell tiramisu... and while they have an extensive menu for tiramisu, that's not all they've got. in fact, their mains menu is probably as long as their tiramisu menu, if not longer (and their tiramisu menu is HUGE). we literally took 10 mins to decide what to get so you can imagine how much consideration there was 🧠

01 — THE MAINS

🍝 aglio olio ($15.9) — this was great because of the options where you get to choose what toppings you want! though they're all of different prices, it gives you that flexibility to choose what you want!

🍳 mee hoon kueh ($12.9) — this was an interesting take on the classic dish thanks to the crispy fried egg - it also comes with vegetarian options and you can customise the spice level (with up to 4 different levels) which is dope

🐟 baked aburi salmon on roasted vege ($23.9) — this was the MVP for me - thicc, juicy salmon fillet topped with torched sour cream which might get greasy, but quickly gets neutralised with the roasted vegetables on the side (loved the broccoli!)

🥔 potato puffs ($7.9) — this was a solid sharing side, super crispy & warm without being greasy and jelat

02 — THE DESSERTS

since tiramisu hero is known for their tiramisu, we had to get it — but we didn't expect to see 15 classic flavours and 4 premium flavours... how are we supposed to make a decision with such a long list 🥲 honestly just looking through the flavours was quite interesting because there's a mix of regular flavours like strawberry, but there's also local favourites like milo, experimental twists like lychee rose - and even alcoholic options? that was really cool honestly.

we got 4 flavours to try: lychee rose, earl grey, houjicha and matcha. i had the lychee rose one and honestly it was probably the best tiramisu i've had, hands down. it's quite a big tub honestly, but you'll finish it before you realise it — simply because it's so light and airy. the cream is also fresh and fragrant without being burdensome, where the flavour gets mixed in lightly — honestly i can see why they gained popularity for this 🍰🤩

honestly i didn't go in their expecting to have a feast, but we left feeling super full and recharged - the space was just so homely to be in, even in the evening; which kind of makes you feel like you don't want to leave? haha overall it was just comfort for the tummy and soul and i'll definitely be back whenever i'm in need of some healing 🤍
