The winter is still a great time to explore Iceland.
I took this photo during my visit to Iceland back in February.
It was taken in one of the Vatnajökull Blue Ice Caves.
Winter is the best (and safest) time for exploring ice caves.
If you do decide to visit Iceland during the winter, I’d suggest booking refundable flights and accommodations in case the weather looks really bad or there’s volcanic activity that could affect your travel plans.
