3 MUST VISIT ANIMAL CAFES IN JAPAN

Japan is highly known for their exotic animal cafes. From snake cafes to owl cafes, Japan has them all. I’ve been to over 7 animal cafes in Japan and these are my top 3 favorites.

🦉 Owl Cafe Owl Cafe "Fukurou"

Located in Akihabara of Japan, this owl cafe has over 20 owls for you to pick and choose from! Pick an owl of your choice, and they will be your companion for the day! For just $15 per person, you get to pet all the owls, have them stand on your shoulder, lap or head and then have your photo taken with one! It’s only 45 minutes per session which I think is the perfect amount of time. Owls are very quiet creatures so whispering is a must! A free photo souvenir is also included in the admission price. Reservations are required. You won’t be able to get in without one.

🐷 Pig Cafe mipig cafe - Harajuku

There are many locations of pig cafes in Japan. The one I went to was in Harajuku. Reservations are also needed as they run out of slots very quickly! The earlier the reservation, the better! We were the first ones there and had all the pigs to ourselves until a rush of people came in later on. For one hour, you get to play with the pigs. The micro pigs were so cute and adorable. They love to lay in your lap and are super affectionate. There are also unlimited complimentary drinks included with the admission!

🐈 Cat Cafe Cat Cafe MOCHA Harajuku

I may be a cat person, but the cat cafes in Japan go hard. I went to 3 of them! The reason why the cat cafes were all an amazing experience is because they let you feed them. For a small cost, you get to buy kibble or treats and feed it to the cats. Then they all start running towards you and surround you. They’re super adorable and all different kinds of cat breeds are there. All of the cat cafes I’ve been to offered unlimited drinks as well.
