SPENDING

For 2 weeks in Portugal here is my cost breakdown:

Activities/Excursions: $95

Transportation: $81

Food: $200

Accommodation: $250

SIM Card: $21

TOTAL = $647

MISTAKES TO AVOID

1. Buses are the most affordable for transportation between cities BUT leave more time to get there than you think if you're using the metro to get to the bus station.

I thought an hour was enough time if it was only going to take me 30 minutes according to google maps but it was not.

(to anyone who watched me run & and miss my bus no you didn't)

2. Best ride sharing apps: Uber & Bolt & People told me Bolt would be cheaper but when I compared the 21 often found Uber to be cheaper.

I recommend downloading both Uber & Bolt so you can compare since one is typically cheaper than the other.

3. CHEAPEST time 7 to visit Portugal is November

- March

The prices in this video are from the beginning of December

4. I budgeted on food by trying not to eat at touristy spots & cooking in hostel kitchens.

By doing that I was able to find meals for around $4-$7.
