How to make Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice?Ingredients:
• 200g glutinous rice flour
• 150ml water
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 50g brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons water (for the syrup)
• 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
• In a mixing bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour and water. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
• Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth.
• Divide the dough into small, equal portions and shape them into flat, round cakes.
2. Fry the Rice Cakes:
• Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
• Fry the glutinous rice cakes on both sides until they turn golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside. This should take about 3-4 minutes per side.
• Remove the cakes from the pan and set them aside on a plate.
3. Prepare the Brown Sugar Syrup:
• In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of water.
• Heat the mixture over low heat until the sugar dissolves and forms a thick syrup. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
4. Assemble:
• Arrange the fried rice cakes on a serving plate.
• Drizzle the warm brown sugar syrup generously over the rice cakes.
• Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish if desired.
5. Serve:
• Serve the Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cakes warm, with extra syrup on the side if desired.
