How to make Steamed Chicken with Cordyceps Flowers?

Ingredients:

• 1 whole chicken or 4 chicken legs

• 20g dried cordyceps flowers

• 5-6 slices of ginger

• 3 green onions

• 10g goji berries (optional)

• 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine

• Salt to taste

• White pepper to taste

• 1 tablespoon light soy sauce

• 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

• 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions:

1. Preparation:

• Soak the dried cordyceps flowers in warm water for about 15 minutes until they become soft. Drain and set aside.

• Soak the goji berries in warm water for about 10 minutes if using. Drain and set aside.

• Clean the chicken and cut it into pieces. You can use a whole chicken or just chicken legs.

2. Marinate the Chicken:

• In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with Shaoxing wine, salt, white pepper, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Prepare for Steaming:

• Place the marinated chicken pieces in a steaming dish. Add the ginger slices and cordyceps flowers on top.

• If using, sprinkle the soaked goji berries over the chicken.

4. Steaming:

• Set up a steamer and bring the water to a boil. Place the dish in the steamer and steam over medium-high heat for about 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.

5. Serving:

• Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot with steamed rice.
