How to make Stir-Fried Celery with Shrimp?
Ingredients:
• 200g shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 2 stalks of celery, sliced diagonally
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
• 1 teaspoon soy sauce
• 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
• 1/4 teaspoon sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
• Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
• Wash and slice the celery diagonally into thin pieces.
• Peel and devein the shrimp, then rinse them under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels.
• Mince the garlic.
2. Marinate the Shrimp (Optional):
• In a bowl, mix the shrimp with a pinch of salt and white pepper. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
3. Cook the Shrimp:
• Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
• Add the shrimp and stir-fry until they turn pink and are just cooked through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the shrimp from the wok and set aside.
4. Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
• In the same wok, add a little more oil if needed. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.
• Add the sliced celery and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes, until the celery is tender but still crisp.
5. Combine and Season:
• Return the cooked shrimp to the wok.
• Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, and white pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
• If you prefer a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch mixture and stir until the sauce thickens.
6. Finish and Serve:
• Drizzle with sesame oil and give it a final stir.
• Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
