How to make Stir-Fired Shrimp

Ingredients:

• 1 pound (450g) medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

• 1 bell pepper, julienned

• 1 cup snow peas, trimmed

• 1 medium carrot, julienned

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

• 3 tablespoons soy sauce

• 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 1 teaspoon sesame oil

• Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

1. Preparation:

• Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.

• Prepare all your vegetables and have them ready for quick cooking.

2. Cooking the Shrimp:

• Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

• Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and season lightly with salt and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and are slightly golden. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

3. Stir-frying Vegetables:

• In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.

• Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

• Add the bell pepper, snow peas, and carrot to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the vegetables are just tender but still crisp.

4. Combining Ingredients:

• Return the shrimp to the skillet with the vegetables.

• Add the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using) to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat the shrimp and vegetables in the sauce. Cook for an additional minute or until everything is heated through.

5. Final Touches:

• Drizzle the sesame oil over the dish and toss to combine.

• Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if necessary.

6. Serving:

• Transfer the stir-fried shrimp and vegetables to a serving plate.

• Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

• Serve immediately with steamed rice or noodles if desired.
