My boyfriends had Triple Bypass Heart Surgery❤️‍🩹

On June 2, 2024 my boyfriend started having chest pains; we went into the hospital. As soon as we got to the hospital doors he started having a heart attack. My mind and heart were racing. This wasn’t our first health scare as my boyfriend has been on kidney dialysis due to kidney failure for the last 8 years; he was diagnosed at age 21.

I met my boyfriend when I was 15 years old; coincidentally we both had moved a small town named La Crosse, WI from Chicago around the same time. Two city kids leaening how to adjust to the small town life and culture shock of it all, we bonded over this and became the best of friends. We stayed good friends up until 5 years ago when we decided to be in a romantic relationship.

On Oct. 2nd, 2024 my boyfriend had a triple bypass heart procedure. It was determined that being on dialysis for as long as he has, had built up calcium in his heart and caused blockage; this is the reason he needed to have this procedure done. We are now on day 5 of my boyfriends recovery and the last week has been.. rough to say the least. The first night was the worst, he has improved tremendously since then, left the ICU and should be coming home tomorrow or the next day the doctors are saying.

We are now finding out we need so much for him to recovery comfortably that we didnt know we needed before; the hospital team from the hospital he’s at disnt tell us until the morning of surgeey. I work part-time for my dad as his caregiver who also has health issues, and attend school fulltime for my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. My boyfriend does photography and digital media work from home which is a huge part of our income; which he can no longer do for the next 4 weeks at least. I also have had to travel back and fourth due to us living in a small town he had to have his procedure at a hospital an hour away. His dad was kind enough to create us a gofundme as money has been really tight.
