Meeting your partner’s family is always an intimidating thing. These are some pointers that I feel are the most helpful when trying to make a great impression.

📍Meet in a place that’s important to them or activity filled so there’s less of a chance for awkward silence! 🤐🏡

This could be their home where they have pictures of your partner or family you can ask about, or a restaurant they love!

📍Don’t show up empty handed! 💐🍰

Pick up some flowers and put them tastefully in a vase or mason jar to show that you care, or take it a step further if you’re crafty, make them or bake them something that will make a lasting impression and show effort

📍Dress appropriately 👗

Depending on the occasion and where you’re meeting them, this will be different for everyone! This also depends on your personal style and wardrobe, however; did you know studies show that wearing earth tones can make you seem grounded, reliable, and natural? 📍Show them you’re in it for the long haul ❤️

Show interest and let them know you care not only for your partner, but for them! Ask about their hobbies, work, or how they met your partner's other parent. Be polite and respectful in your language and manners. Avoid controversial topics or anything that could be seen as confrontational. Express gratitude for their hospitality and say you're looking forward to getting to know them better.
