#review | why I think Carousel Buffet is 🙂 o-kay…

Sooo recently was my department dinner so it was free (but it’s my employee benefit so of course I wanted the meal to be delicious)

Here’s my honest review of the place.

📍Carousel

@ Royal Plaza on Scotts Singapore

the hotel is a five star hotel category (as per Google) the hotel lobby was really pretty but the restaurant ambience wasn’t up to standard 🫠

We went for the dinner buffet on a Monday which is s$94++ it really isn’t cheap and I would have high expectations. The ambience was at most giving about the $50 range meal vibes if you know what I mean.

⭐️✨Food

The selection of food was quite disappointing too. Their hot foods weren’t hot enough, it was barely warm (and I ate immediately after I took the food). They had some chilli sauced crab (I forgot what sauce the only thing I rmb was it wasn’t hot enough and the meat wasn’t tasty (doesn’t have the fresh yummy taste) it wasn’t horrible but just not good enough (maybe my standards to high 🫠🌚). They have desserts selections too, chocolate foundation, scooped ice creams. Nothing really special. I guess I liked their soup and bread section and cheese section. But it’s pretty normal to have those at a hotel buffet.

⭐️⭐️⭐️Service

was really good though, they were very attentive and friendly!! We had a surprise for our friends’ birthday - the staffs helped and even played a happy birthday song through speakers 😂😂

Overall, it was a good experience but I would have expected better for the price.

For example, a Monday dinner buffet at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore - Colony - is s$92++ per adult (with no seafood selection but they still have oysters and sashimi etc, you can see their menu it’s a relatively wide range.

I tried Colony pre- COVID and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT🤩. From the food to the service to the ambience. Okay I dk if their standards dropped after Covid but well I really hope it didn’t. 🥲🥲

What yall think? Haha maybe I just bias idk

I will be trying The Seasonal Tastes @ The Westin Singapore soon!! I really hope it’s delicious!
