Best Ayam Penyet, Barramundi Lemak Nanas deal!

Hi fellow foodies!! HungryMeow has noticed that there is a very high interest in the previous BYD restaurant selling 3 course meal at $9.90 so I manage to find another good $9.90 deal now located at BYD by SevenDaze next to ZhongShan Mall!

Not just the food is great, the outlet is located at Zhong Shan Park with great vibe and good service by staff. Also for hoomans who have furbabies at home this outlet is also pet friendly!!

Ayam Penyet:

If you are thinking how this Ayam Penyet differ from your hawker version, the batter is cleaner and lighter and the chicken portion is HUGE, I think is as big as my palm when I spread big. The meat is tender and juicy but for the chilli it has less kick than your average Ayam Peyet chilli out there so for people who cant take too much spicy I think it is pretty choice to choose.

Barramundi Lemak Nenas:

4.5/5 Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

Honestly speaking this might be one of the best quality fish dishes you can have at this price point considering the quality and quantity of the Barramundi served. The best way to describe the taste is like a more filling larger bite pieces of your BBQ stingray with the sauce that match perfectly with the rice.

Achar & Soup:

4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If we are purely basing it taste, this dish can easily be 4.5 or even 5 star but it is serve more like a appetizer oe starter with smaller portion size so I did not max out the ratings. If they so sell the soup as a separate dish I would sure buy and takeaway home as it is just that good, you can really taste the richness and deep flavour from the soup and alternating between the soup and Achar make it a perfect pairing.

Coconut Ice Cream

4.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

I would say unlike those expensive scoop of ice cream out in other cafe this one you can see the effort with the peanut toppings and Gula Melaka caramalized drizzle over it when you have a bite into it it actually feels like a Ice cream that actually have a theme that reflect its flavor being sold as a dessert rather than a gimmick for marketing. As a cat with a sweet tooth this is really one of the better dessert I have this year round.

A rare quiet place with good pleasant cozy atmosphere not just that it is pet friendly for hoomans that like to bring their furbaby along.

TLDR:

Must try and worth the trip even for westsiders. For couples trying to get a good place to have a meal this is also great to not break your bank while enjoy restaurant level quality fusion food.
