it was taken in december of 2018.. the first time i ever played around with dj equipment

i live in florida and i have 2 uncles in michigan who are djs. so one winter i flew up to michigan a few days earlier than my family just so i could learn to dj. to be honest, i learned absolutely nothing lol, but it realllyyy continued my spark of wanting to be a dj

my aunt took that picture of me and said “you’ll want this picture when youre performing in front of huge crowds one day”. i remember laughing because i didnt think it would be true.

i still can close my eyes and think about the girl who barely knew what she was doing, and practiced for hours on end in her bedroom and was awful at djing.

i cant tell you the amount of times i almost quit, but something always stopped me. in the back of my mind i always said to myself “if you dont try to become a dj, you’ll regret it the rest of your life”.

now here i am today, ive djed in front of crowds countless times, opened for some massive djs, was the first female dj at the largest college in the country, and am learning to make music to make this my full time career.

its not easy going after your dreams, but its soooo worth it. never give up, you got this🫶🥹
