Journey to Bandelier National Monument!

Bandelier National Monument is ruins of a human settlement from around 11,000 years ago lying in rocky canyon and mesa country.

Located about 2 hours from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Perfect for getting away with your family or friends. Some activities that you can find there at the national monument include hiking, picnics, and climbing up ladders to face your fear of heights.

I traveled there mid morning and the park was full so the ranger mentioned to come back in an hour. I killed some time in Los Alamos (about 30 mins from the park entrance) to explore downtown where there are alot of places to grab some food and enjoy a coffee.

When I finally got into Bandelier I first made a stop at the visitor center to see what there was to explore. When I hit the trail I discovered my favorite part of exploring was Alcove house, 140 feet above the floor, a few moments of thinking “Don’t look down”, and some amazing views.
