Never buy rolls from the store again after this recipe!

Takes about 2 hours total between mixing, rise time, and baking but they are worth it! It is an easy recipe and they come out great. I will be making these for my thanksgiving spread this year!

🍞Ingredients:

1 envelope active dried yeast

½ cup water about room temperature warm

1 cup milk whole milk

4 tablespoons butter melted

2 tablespoons sugar

4 cups all-purpose flour or more if needed

½ tablespoon salt

For brushing:

1 egg for egg wash

melted butter to brush on the hot rolls

🥖Directions:

1. Activate yeast and combine liquid ingredients: Whisk the yeast into the warm water in a small bowl and set aside until bubbles start to appear on the surface, about 5 mins. In the meantime, whisk together the milk, melted butter and sugar. Add the activated yeast mixture and whisk until combined.

2. Make dough: Add the flour and salt to the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the hook attachment. Add the milk mixture, then knead on medium-low speed for 5-6 minutes, or until you have a smooth ball of dough. Add an extra tablespoon of flour if your dough feels too sticky.

3. Rise: Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let sit at room temperature in a warm spot for 1 hour. Punch down, then divide dough into 12 equal pieces; shape into balls. Place in greased 9x11 inch baking pan (grease with butter or oil, I use olive oil). Cover and let rise at room temperature again until puffed up, about 20-30 minutes.

4. Bake: Heat the oven to 375°F. Beat the egg and egg wash the top of the rolls. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Brush with melted butter right as they come out of the oven and sprinkle a little flaky salt on top, if you like. Remove from the pan and serve warm, enjoy! 😊
