FUN DATE ACTIVITY / THINGS TO DO IN SG: TUFTING 🧵🪡

Hi lemon8 peeps 🍋 Just wanted to share my tufting experience with TUFT CLUB (Tufting Singapore) recently!

FYI: The package we chose was the Rug Tufting workshop (Shortened) which consisted of 2 hours of tufting, inclusive of a short tutorial for first-timers!

Before the session:

- We were encouraged to research a little on the designs we wanted to tuft

- Simply drop them a Whatsapp to enquire about the designs and they will advice you on the level of difficulty 👍🏼

During the session:

- A tutorial will be given to guide you on how to manage the tufting machine, how to tuft, the different wools available, and how your design will be placed on the board

- go ahead & start choosing your colors and placing it at your workstation

- in the end, I didn’t manage to finish mine in time, but the tufting ladies were super nice to help me complete the rest! 🥹🥹

After the session:

- The rugs have to be sent for touching up (e.g cutting the excess wool, placing a base, etc.)

- For this package, we simply had to fill up a simple form, and they would deliver our finished rugs to our respective houses for FREE!!!! 💯

💡Tips for first timers:

1️⃣: Please don’t be like me - who stupidly chose a super complicated design that I couldn’t finish within 2 hours 🤡

2️⃣: bring HAIR TIESSSS to tie up your hair (i can’t stress this enough, there was a girl beside me who got her hair stuck in the machine……)

3️⃣: chose milk wool for your designs as it was the softest and easiest to work with! (esp with only 2 hours!)

Overall, we felt that it was a really fun date activity especially since we’ve never done it before. And you get cute rugs after that, so why the hell not!!!

But of course, it can get a little pricey in SG, so you could also consider going down to JB to do it. 💸
