6 restaurants in melbourne you should visit! 🤤🍽️

heya! how’s everyone going?

i recently got back from yet again another trip to australia (rly making use of my aus visa lol) — this time to both melbourne and sydney. 😊 it’s been over a decade since i visited melbourne and tbh, all i remember from that last trip as a kid was me plucking strawberries out from a farm… bAHAHA. so it was nice to spend a few days this time to do some proper exploring + also meet up with a friend who’s studying here!

just wanted to do up a list of cafés/restaurants in melbourne that i think are worth visiting & hopefully this would also help some of you guys who’s planning a trip down soon!

KISUMÉ

we are starting out strong — kisumé is perfect if you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or even for date nights. ordered their feature box ($135 aud) which comes with sashimi, mixture of maki & nigiris. isn’t the cheapest but it was fresh and delicious! really enjoyed it.

p.s. if you’re looking for a cheaper option that’s still good, try uminono’s takeaway sushi boxes. i got the individual omakase box for $75 aud (comes with 10 nigiri & 8 maki) and it was yums! their soy sauce also comes in a drip bottle which is cool. just make sure to order at least 3h in advance from their site 😊

GOOD MEASURE

known for their coffee and o m g their coffee IS good. their mont blanc 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 had to go back for a second cup lol. absolutely loved that. it comes with an orange foam which might sound weird/a mismatch but it actually goes so well. their soy matcha was deliciiiious as well! tried their matcha basque cheesecake and babka too — both were good but the highlight’s definitely still their drinks.

EASEY’S

what got me to visit easey’s was the fact that this restaurant is located in the trains on top of a building 😅 really unique concept but also heard that the food was good. if you watched william & bentley from the return of superman, this was one of the places they went to when they were in melbourne! thought the oklahoma fried onion burger was pretty good and is worth ordering! the normal cheeseburger was good too but there’s nothing too special about it.

LUNE CROISSANTERIE

some people say it’s overrated while others say it’s good. i fall in the latter category 🤤 loved their ham and gruyere croissant. so so delicious! and that’s if you’re looking for something savoury. if you want something sweet, then go for the almond croissant. was rly good too 🥹 isn’t the cheapest though! but think it’s worth a try still to see what the hype is about. i know i’ll return for the ham and gruyere croissant for sure!

SEVEN SEEDS COFFEE ROASTERS

one of the popular coffee/café chains in melbourne with good coffee and food. actually enjoyed the choriza bolognese toast! the chili scrambled egg prata was good although so so spicy. i was shocked by how spicy it was lol 😅 but it was refreshing to see a café serve up prata instead of the usual toast/sourdough in aus!

TORI’S

queued 20-30 mins for this place and i’m not surprised bc their desserts & matcha were really good! place is really cosy and small though, it almost feels like you’re in someone’s living room haha 😅 not the biggest fan of strawberry matchas, but i have to admit the one at tori’s slapped haha. i did find the matcha & pistachio madeline mid though but the basque cheesecake was good — loved that it melts in your mouth~~
