You must try this famous ramen at Tokyo Station 🍜

Matsudo Tomita Memban is branch of Chuka Soba Tomita which is widely regarded as the 𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑹𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝑱𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒏. Matsudo Tomita Memban is 𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙆𝙄𝙏𝙏𝙀 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙪𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝𝙞 𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙏𝙤𝙠𝙮𝙤 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 and within KITTE Granche which houses a number of other ramen concepts as well in the form of a “Ramen Street” of sorts.

We got the 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧, where the 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗺𝗶 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗺𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝘆 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿, 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝘆𝘂𝘇𝘂 and with a grainy bitterness from what we suspect is yuzu skin shavings. Altogether, it is a tsukemen broth like none we have ever tried before. The 𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱.

We opted for 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 with the Tsukemen and it cames with a 𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗴𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗸 with differing amounts of fattiness.

Additionally, we got a bowl of 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐃𝐨𝐧, which comes with slices marinated pork on a bed of Japanese rice. I enjoyed the addition of Ginger and sliced onions in this dish which helps to cut the richness of the fatty pork slices.

We also ordered a side of their signature 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐆𝐲𝐨𝐳𝐚 which were gigantic (almost half the size of my face!!!), where the Gyoza skin was perfect crisp on the outside, where the pork fillings were so juicy that the juices were overflowing with every bite. This is a side dish I’d order again.

In all, we really appreciated the convenience of this outlet instead of making the long trip to the main branch. We also really loved the concept of the Ramen Street and we loved the giant gyozas we had there as well.
