LET’S TALK MONEY 💸: genz student ver.!

in honour of #TeamGenZ and #Postin3, here are 3 MAIN THINGS i spend on as a student!

as a teenager, i’m not working a 9-5 full time, and neither am i financially independent. although there aren’t huge areas i need to be spending big money on (rent, taxes, bills) inflation IS REAL and i wanted to share a lil about the in the times we’re living in 💫

1. FOOD 🍜

this is my MAIN expense. i’m usually out (at sch, w friends) most of my time in the week = more 💰 spent on food outside. due to inflation, even canteen food can be pricey nowadays. 😵‍💫 i definitely budget this and control my spending by opting for lower priced foods, but the near-daily spending does incur quite a high cost overall.

2. TRANSPORT 🚌

I AM SO THANKFUL FOR STUDENT PRICE 🙏🙏🙏 since i’m still a student, the MAXIMUM (furthest distance) i get charged for public transport is $0.70 😍 (this means my rides are even $0.25 sometimes if the destination isnt too far 🤭🤭) i cannot imagine seeing a dollar out of my pocket ever lil mrt ride…

however, transport is still an everyday expense — going to and from school, malls, eateries, ect. this ultimately will build up and still costs 💲💲, despite the subsidies from the gov.

3. GIFTS 🎁

i want to express my care and appreciation for my loved ones around me, which comes in the form of gift giving! 💘 this can be exx not because i give many gifts extremely often, but because buying goods has simply become more expensive. :-(

-> HIGH COST despite its low frequency. 💸

even when making handmade gifts, the elements/materials for the gift still must be accounted for!
