🎒Natural Bridge State Park 🥾

Just 40 minutes north of Roanoke near Lexington, Virginia, you can visit Natural Bridge State Park which is one of the most beautiful natural attractions that I’ve personally seen in Virginia.

The main trail here is Cedar Creek Trail which is a 2-mile round trip walk on a crushed gravel path. There is a $9 entrance fee for adults and $6 for children, payable at the Trail Store. It’s rated as moderate because of the 137 stairs at the beginning—and end—of the trail with a relatively flat path in between. In addition to the natural bridge, you'll see a cave and waterfall along the trail too.

The park offers 7 miles of hiking trails with various views and terrains. The easy/moderate 1.1 mile Skyline Trail loop is a Kid's in Park Track Trail and departs from the Children's Discovery Area.

I did part of the moderate 4 mile Blue Ridge Trail loop and hiked up to the overlook—a great trail through the woods with wild views, and also parallels the Thistle Ridge Disc Golf Trail. The park became an International Dark Sky Park in 2021 and offers self- and ranger-guided stargazing programs.
