hello zesties!
today, i’m here to share some of the meals i made during exchange (so, VERY simple — few ingredients, yet DELICIOUS) 😋🤤 most of these are meal prepped, so i put them in containers, store them in the fridge and heat it up when i was ready to eat! hope this gives you ideas on mealprepping — most convenient, affordable ways to fuel your body!
1️⃣ MALA STIRFRY! 🥵🌶️
so simple, i just used a hdl mala pack (i brought from SG!), dumped in a bunch of ingredients into the pan like enoki mushrooms, chicken, broccoli, potato & luncheon meat. one mala pack was able to make about 7-8 meals, which had me having shitting issues for a week 🤣 (not recommended during exam szn cos i dieded…)
2️⃣ SCHNITZEL, BROCCOLI & RICE 🍗🥦🍚
bought schnitzel on discount from the supermarket & just heat it up in a pan, blanched broccoli with oyster & soy sauce, & cooked a big batch of rice! i made tons of each & had like 4 very satisfying meals from these ingredients (& so well balanced!) i eat my rice with kewpie mayo & siracha… do not judge…
3️⃣ DIY BRUNCH — PANCAKES, BACON & STRAWBERIES 🥞🥓🍓
fry up bacon strips, make pancakes with premade batter & wash some strawberries! diy cafe quality brunch 🤤 & you can always save the extra for the next day!
4️⃣ WRAP/QUESADILLA
heat up the tortilla, then fill it up with whatever ingredients you have! my fav was egg, cheese, mushrooms & chicken — then kewpie mayo & siracha sauce
5️⃣ PENNE BOLOGNESE & MEATBALLS
the EASIEST of them all & the first meal i learned how to cook! cooked the penne according to instructions on the back of the box, then sort of agar-agared the meatballs (thank god it was cooked through) and used store bought tomato sauce. was still soooo delish even tho it took us barely 15minutes & no effort at all! if you wanna keep it for longer, keep the pasta & meatballs & sauce separate!
i hope this helps you out! especially those going on exchange bc other countries food are EXPENSIVEE and you gotta eat! i learned how to cook on exchange & managed to make these with easily available ingredients, so tbh anyone can do it too ~ let me know if you want more simple cheap mealprep ideas ~
