this was one of my favourite day trips in poland — i came here on a day tour from krakow, and i’m here to share with you why! this stunning place is ZAKOPANE, POLAND 🇵🇱 for more europe tipstricksreviewsitineraries, check out #sarahineurope

if you’re like us and you didnt rent a car 🚗 , zakopane is highly inaccessible by public transport 🚌❌, hence i recommend booking a day trip out from krakow! there’s 2 main options, hiking in the mountains itself or visiting the nearby villages 🏘️ & getting the view of the tetra mountains 🏔️ & going to a thermal spa 🧖‍♂️— we chose this one ☝️

now, onto the reviews:

Chocholow

🪵 traditional wooden architecture was so beautiful, the houses were really really pleasing to look at!

🪵 Kościół św. Jacka w Chochołowie is the name of the church LMAO and its free to enter! they were having some svc ongoing so we got to watch a bit which was rly interesting

Poland-Slovakia Border

🛣️ damn funny, can see how the road texture kinda changes LAWLL n u can legit see where the poland road ends and the slovakia road becomes!

🛣️ super fun to j cross country borders like that keke

Shepherd’s Hut (Cheese Factory)

🧀 had super yummy smoked sheeps cheese (oscypek)! typically i dont eat sheep cheese but this was legit super good i rly enjoyed it, esp paired w the jam

🧀 the polish vodka shot was nice (we had 2 shots each hehe) and it was very fruity, not very alcohol heavy so alls good yar u wont get drunk from this

Gubalowka

🚠 took a cable car up, super panoramic views of the tatra mountains, vv stunning even through the mist & rain cos unfortunately it wasnt good weather…

🚠 a lot of small lil tourist shops lining the road & a lot of good viewpoints along the road, u j hv to turn in when u think theres a potential viewpoint LMAO cos we took good pics w/o people in it at a secluded viewpoint, not the standard one in front of the cable car

🚠 got my potato twisty stick for really cheap keke it made me damn happy yay

Zakopane

🏡 itself was rly ntg much cos it was a small lil village and not very worth going to (but we also nvr rly explore the town properly)

Termy Zakopiański

🧖‍♀️ really nice thermal bath but damn annoying cos they let children in then they just splash everywhere and run around and yell and do handstands in the pool… abit annoying

🧖‍♀️ the slide was fun! we did 1 of them idk if got more

🧖‍♀️ a few thermal pools! and we only discovered this one w boiling hot onsen water below… 5min before we gg leave… so pls explore the complex thoroughly!

🧖‍♀️ only 1 sauna (empty) and 1 salt room (also empty) so i took a lil nap LMAO

Pod Arkadami

🥩 initially the restaurant was damn empty so we were v sus but the reviews were good so we went in anyway!!

🥩 i had the mixed meat platter, and they gave me a legit SHIT TONNNN of food not even kidding bro… so much meat i couldnt even finish half of it sia

🥩 my friends soup tasted like chicken broth

🥩 overall i wld say meh but maybe cos is not my taste so ok la
