HHN12: WORTH IT OR NOT ⁉️🤔👻

i’m here to give you a HONEST review of hhn — i visited on the second day (NOT the media preview w VIP treatment) & i’ve been going to hhn annually since 2022 (this is my 3rd year!) 👻 so you can trust me 👌 for specific tips & tricks on maximising your experience at HHN12, check out my post HERE

4 houses (down from 5) and 3 scare zones, as well as a bunch of shows! i did all 4 houses, 2 of the scare zones, 1 ride & none of the shows oops 😬 and honestly the houses make more sense if you have context (i didnt hehe) so you should read up on it/watch it like the pasirris red room, sweet home etc

without further ado, my ⋆ 🎀 𝑅𝐸𝒱𝐼𝐸𝒲 🎀 ⋆ starting off with

𝓢𝓒𝓐𝓡𝓔 𝓩𝓞𝓝𝓔𝓢

Nether-Land 🕺🪩

- not really a scare zone, the scare actors were more focused on dancing & vibing rather than actively scaring people — come here to warm up for the houses 🤣

- DJ was actually really good, the music was sick & the whole zone was like one big rave/club 🎶

- go and dance w the ghosts, it was super fun & many other groups were doing the same 😂😂😂 they will sometimes jumpscare u mid dance 🤣

The Lost Kampung 🛖👻

- DAMN SCARY… i daresay as scary as the houses man… bc the scare actors move greater distances & follow you & stand at the side of some entrances so you HAVE to go past them… 😅

- local ghosts so this makes it more terrifying imo cos it hits closer to home

𝓗𝓐𝓤𝓝𝓣𝓔𝓓 𝓗𝓞𝓤𝓢𝓔𝓢

Sweet Home 🏠🏚️🛖

- i didnt watch the series so i cant really understand the set but my friend who follows the show really loved the details & the costumes, esp for the main character!

- alot of the actors were actually speaking & yelling in korean, which really added to the theme

- i personally found this scary cos it was such a long experience & we were at the front of the group so every single step i took had a jumpscare… or maybe cos it was my first house 😭😭😭 but ive heard from other groups that this house wasnt very scary to them

Singapore’s Most Haunted: The Killings 🔪🩸

- my friend said its based on the pasir ris red house! so its more scary bc its so localised 🥶 and also maybe cos its so dark & im scared of the dark teehee

- there was a unique smell element — joss sticks, which apparently relates to the storyline — for me, i didnt unds the context but it was unexpected & really added the creepy vibes!

- i wld say it was the scariest house, sweet home was scary bc i was at the front and the scare actors were all targeting us, but this one was objectively the most scary imo

Under the Castle 🏰🏯

- from the get-go, was my least favourite house because it was quite underwhelming & not scary, and i was also very intently paying attention bc we knew a scare actor working in this house, so i paid arguably more attention to this house in general

- medieval set was really cool tho! & the classic dummy or scare actor ⁉️ works on me so i did get scared by supposed dummies moving

- perhaps my review is biased cos i genuinely dont understand the storyline at all HAHAHAHA & its not very easy to understand

Cursed Scrolls: Dynasty of Darkness 📜📝

- SOO trippy with the 3D glasses, which added a really cool dimension! HOWEVER, it made the scare actors/props abit more unreal, which imo reduced the scare factor a lot. 3D glasses also gave some of my friends headaches or made them really dizzy so if you are sensitive to the effects, i suggest not wearing them!

- VERY VERY cool themes & decor was really on point — not just the design but also the texture! one part that really stood out was the texture of the floor, super pillowy but VERY hard to walk & we kept stumbling LMAO and another part was the room with white fur (idk what its for) but it added to the dimensionality of the house!

overall, would say that past collabs for hhn were better & the houses were more scary in previous years, so to me, hhn12 was kinda meh but thats just my subjective opinion bc i didnt hv time to do every single thing as well
