6 THINGS YOU MUST DO IN PHUKET! 🤩🏝️

1. island hopping 🏝️🌊🐠🤿

this was such an amazing experience! i really never expected the water on the islands to be so clean and blue~ only downside is that there were some very questionable people in our team onboard the speedboat… but our tour guide was really nice & passionate so that made up for it!

- get your packages from agencies by the streets (there are plenty, especially by the beaches)

- we bought our package just 1 day before in case of bad weather and thankfully they had slots. it costed us $56 (inclusive of the card payment fee) which is cheaper than what klook offers. do note that there is usually a 3/4% fee if you pay by card so try to prepare sufficient cash to avoid this

- package consisted of all the essentials: hotel pickup & dropoff, lunch buffet, snorkelling equipment, speedboat transfers, light snacks, drinks on the boat & a very slay tour guide 🥰

- NOT INCLUDED: snorkelling mouthpiece (before moving off, they offer this for 100baht which is alright since it’s for hygiene purposes) & any water-sport activities on the beach

- the water-sport activities were overpriced so we didn’t end up doing any and just spent our time swimming on the beach which was so nice & therapeutic

- you will spend quite a bit of time on the speedboat so wear comfy clothes (try to avoid wearing dresses or anything too dressy) bc the seats aren’t the most comfy and the main island is about 1 hr away

- use a backpack for convenience for when you wanna explore & wear aqua shoes (i wore this the whole day) bc your feet will be in water a lot

2. phuket old town 🌸☕️🍦

there were soooo many cafes, especially ice cream ones & souvenir shops here!! everything looked so cute & aesthetic, def go here for your ootds and if you enjoy cafe hopping. weather was extremely hot though and there were barely any shelters so just bring along an umbrella & fan in case. we chanced upon a photobooth and immediately went in HAHA & the pics turned out SO CUTE & quality was great🤩 we also had lunch at a halal cafe here and the food was so good and affordable!!! (will talk more about this in my upcoming post :p)

3. bike rides 🏍️

i was lowkey addicted to this because the feeling is like no other HAHA i had nvr pillioned before so initially i was quite lost & nervous but it turned out to be so fun!!! i loved feeling the wind but def only recco doing this for shorter distance for safety reasons and also bc your 🍑 will hurt from sitting for too long😅 we mainly used bolt to book rides but you can also use apps like grab (which is usually more ex) & indrive (need to pay by cash). usually for longer distance, taking a car is cheaper than bikes when u multiply it by the number of pax so just make sure to do your calculations before deciding. also! you can get your riders to wait for your friends’ ride so that you can sort of ride at the same time ifukwim

4. self careeee 🧖🏼‍♀️💅✨😌

highly recommend going to nara massage & spa salon to treat yourself to some self care! the place was really clean and cosy and prices were also sooo affordable for both massage & mani 🤩 90 min full body massage with your choice of essential oil was only 750baht & my chrome gel manicure + gel removal was 900baht! they only allow bookings one day before and you can do it via their whatsapp! NARA MASSAGE & SPA PHUKET (Chalong, Patak Rd.)

5. 7/11 runs

we literally visited and bought something from 7/11 every single day bc their options are ENDLESS. every single time you step into there feels like you’re spoilt for choice bc there are so many options you could never find in SG. i would really recco yall to get their cheese toasts (we even brought a bunch of these back to sg..), sausages, CP chicken & def try out the drinks from the cafe too!!! i personally loved their chocolate frappe & matcha drinks🤤 even their ready made food like the tomyam fried rice tastes so authentic👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

6. love the catsssss 🐈🐈‍⬛🐱

we were so surprised at how many stray cats we saw and even more surprised at how well taken care of they were by the locals. they were really clean, so friendly and you just know they are being taken care of despite being strays🥺🥺 so if you spot any, do give them some ❤️

overall phuket really pleasantly surprised us and it’s generally such a chill and peaceful place to go for a vacation. their beaches are gorgeous and clean and it’s so much less hectic than bangkok BUT i will say that we spent quite a bit on transport bc lots of places within phuket are located quite far away from diff areas unless your accommodation is in patong.. so it might be better to go with a bigger group if you’re on a tighter budget!
