Make a super simple rice cooker dish for the whole family, including your little one!👇🏻
My cousin-in-law helped to fix our spoilt rice cooker and I was excited to use it because I haven’t had fluffy rice for sooooo long - rice taste the best in rice cooker! Team #ricecooker
For 2 adults + 1 toddler
Ingredients
1. 14-16 pcs dried oyster (medium-large size)
2. 2 tbsp dried scallop
3. 2 cups Rice
4. Garlic
optional: Onion and ginger 🧅 🫚 - I happened to have some in the kitchen and added them, if not I’ll just omit
Steps:
1. Soak dried scallop and oyster before hand with 2 cups of water- save flavoured water for cooking
2. Wash rice and set aside
3. Chop onion and garlic, slice ginger
4. Heat up rice cooker and add oil.
5. After oil is heated up, add ginger, garlic and onion till fragrant, then add in rice and fry for 5-10mins
6. Pour in soaked oyster and scallop, flavored water and
I used a 1:1 ratio of
rice : Oyster + scallop water
7. Let rice cook ✨
8. Do a taste test once rice is done👌🏻
I scooped up rice and scallop for my almost 3yo little one here as i don’t want it too salty for her. This is just nice
9. Added 1-1.5 tbsp spoon of oyster sauce to the rice and mixed it all up.

I first fell in love with oyster based rice dish ( oyster porridge) from a Hongkong restaurant at jurong point but they discontinued this from the menu. My husband and I were soooo sad so I wanted to replicate a similar dish for ourselves ( I prefer rice over porridge 😚)
I was so surprised it turned out so well I had to document it down as this is the first time I’m trying it. It’s gonna be one of my staple dishes to go for quick #comfortfood ❤️
