sit tight because this is going to be a rather long post,, i am someone who get scared quite easily so my ratings of how scary the houses are may not be as relatable for those who have high tolerance to haunted houses… [🎃 for haunted house, 🫣 for scare zones. refer to the map on second pic]

impt things to note:

- event hours for non-peak nights (10, 17, 24 Oct) 7:15PM — 12:30AM and for peak nights 7:15PM — 1:30AM. you can enter USS even before 7:15PM but you will need to wait till 7:15PM till they allow you to roam into the other parts of USS

- you can enter at 6PM if you purchase the Frights for Four Package

- 4 houses in total and you should go to the house that is further away first (under the castle or the killings)

- madagascar part is still under renovation so the only way to go about is from hollywood so you can stand near there and when 7:15PM hits they will start allowing people to go in

we went on their non-peak nights and i would say the crowd is not as bad as i thought it will be! highly recommend you to go non-peak.

our route:

🫣 we went into the vampire alley (2/5) with the intention to cut through and to the ancient egypt part. it was still quite bright at this time so we weren't as scared.

🎃 we head to the killing house (4.5/5) first and we had to wait awhile ~20minutes but i would say its not as bad as other years when i came for hhn. you need to brace yourself for this house because they are not playing, we went this house twice and the second time i was still screaming throughout and i don't know when and where they are popping out (AND they pop out in all directions) this house is dimmer than the other houses and i have slight night blindness so i really cannot see much the first time esp when i am terrified to open my eyes. some scare actors/actresses really come so close to my face i have to close my eyes...

🎃 afterwards we went to under the castle (3/5) where we waited about 30minutes, the queue is quite long! the house ended quite fast than i expected and i would say its less scary than the first house (but still scary)

afterwards we went to sit the transformer ride and the waiting time was very short ~10minutes.

🎃 we then went to sweet home (4/5), i really recommend you to watch the show before experiencing it because it just gives you a different kind of anxiety and you understand the characters that will appear in the house better. i am so glad a particular character that i hate so much is not inside :') i always get so stressed when that character shows up in the show. i love how the house really gives you the immersive feeling like you are in the show! i really love the decoration and its a pity i only went once for this house, i would go this house again to appreciate all the small details they did.

🎃 cursed scrolls (3/5) my least favourite house because i dont know why this house has very strong smell, not unpleasant but its just very pungent. we have to wear a disposable glasses to see the special effects of this house and its good, you can't differentiate what is real and fake and at one part the house look so big because of the light effects. there isn't as much scare actors here so i was not that scared (and also because i wasn't the first to walk 😆)

🫣 special mention: the lost kampung (5/5) i feel like its a must go especially if there is nobody HAHA its so bloody scary i would say its even scarier than the houses. at one point its just me and my friends (3 of us) vs the scare actors we were literally scared left right and this scare zone left a very big impact on me mentally :' and by the time we went it was so dark we cannot see clearly what is going on i screamed very bad for this. i wont give any spoiler alert but be prepared to brace your hearts!

👻 rides: we managed to take transformer (x2), enchanted airways and puss in boots. we can actually take one more ride but my friends are too scared for other rides

last advice 🤣

imo i think you can skip the shows like night terrors if you don't have much time, it is a light show that lasted about 7min.

move quick and pack light! must bring: portable charger, fan and water bottle (duh) the drinks and food are not cheap so eat a full meal before going in, good luck and have fun! 😊
