things I didn't know about birth and wish I did

I was not prepared for birth. No one really told me how it would be so I literally went into it blind. Here is what I wish I knew before giving birth:

• The nurse may or may not blow your vein out when putting in the IV.

• The ring of fire burns like hell!

• You will have swollen feet and it will last for a week or 2.

• You can sort of feel the baby moving down

• The epidural sounds bad and scary in your head but it really isn't that bad. It's like a bee sting.

• After you give birth, you won't be able to move your legs no matter how hard you try.

• You may feel like you are pushing with the more intense contractions.

• The nurses have conflicting answers when asked for advice.
