1. Don't cut calories too much - Many people, when they want to lose weight, start eating too little. It's very bad for your body and will slow down your metabolism, causing your body to go into 'starvation mode.' That's not good!

2. Choose the type of activity that you'll really enjoy - You should try different things and see what you like! Not everybody has to go to the gym; if you really hate it, don't worry. If you find something that you like, the chances that you will keep doing it are bigger. Even walking is good - aim for at least 7-8k steps a day.

3. Understand that not all calories are equal - I made this mistake in the beginning; I ate whatever fit into my calorie allowance. Yes, you'll lose weight, but it's not healthy! It's important to feed your body well. But let's not get crazy - enjoying a burger or pizza from time to time is okay. Let's enjoy life.

4. Get enough sleep & drink enough water - Your body needs rest; it's very important to sleep at least 7 hours. It's good for your metabolism too! Drinking water is also very important - it reduces hunger cravings, and if you're dehydrated, it can be hard to lose weight.
