I’m really excited I made coquito 🇵🇷 for the first time.

I’m giving some to my friends and family for the holidays.

It’s nice for the first time I feel comfortable enough to make food from my heritage.

I’ve always struggled with feeling like I didn’t belong or feeling like I was black enough or Puerto Rican enough. Even teased and bullied as a kid about my race.

Now that I’m older I’m more and more comfortable and peaceful in my skin.

I’m very happy with how it came out very proud of myself 🩷
