As a kid, I did ballet for 5 years and I really miss is it! This year I discovered a Barre class and decided to try it out! I’ve had 3 lessons at Barre 2 Barre in the past month and here are my thoughts:
What is barre:
Barre incorporates movements from ballet,pilates & yoga. Most movements are small and slow to target specific muscle groups. It’s a low impact exercise and aims to improve strength, flexibility, posture and overall body alignment! 🩰🧘🏼♀️
Difficulty level:
Movements might seem small and unhurried, but trust me, it’s INTENSE! I felt the burn intensely and was practically trembling. The instructor's mantra was: "If you're not shaking, you're not doing it right."
The specific focus of the workout varies based on the class type; certain sessions involve weights, while others integrate yoga and breathwork. Choose the class that aligns best with your preferences!
From a beginner's perspective, I would rate its difficulty level as a 7 out of 10.
What I like:
The classes I've attended typically consisted of 6 to 12 participants. I have a preference for smaller-scale workout sessions as it allows the instructor to offer individual attention and assistance when needed. Personally, I gravitate towards low-intensity workouts because I enjoy observing my legs wobble and experiencing that satisfying burn! 🥵
