how I made my own knitted bag 🧶

I’ve been seeing knitted bags on trend and lowkey wanted one 🤭 I saw that you can make ur own in Bangkok and so I went to try it out! ✨

when we went, there was miscommunication at first as the staff thought that I wanted to learn basic knitting/crotchet and the teacher wasn’t there. we were confused and almost left ⁉️ we asked again and specifically pointed to the big knitted bags which is actually available to make everyday!

I chose the design + yarn I wanted and paid. since I only chose one colour, it was 1100 baht (~S$42) which was alr kinda expensive to me 💔 if u choose 2 colours I think it’s close to 2k baht?

the staff guided me right from the start, including holding of the yarn, the basic loop, how to standardise the size of the loop etc. honestly, she’s god sent 🙏🏻 she’s very patient and would check on me from time to time to help me adjust so that the bag looks neater.

the whole process of knitting is actually a lot easier than I expected! the whole bag is made using the same loop so it’s just a lot of repetition. however, my fingers did hurt after a while. it only took me 1h to complete the bag. it’s also a cafe so u can get some snacks/drinks while knitting.

I loveeeee the bag!! it turned out so cute 👛 they also give u a big knit keychain to put on. although I do love the look of the bag, I don’t think it’s the most functional. the bag is slightly heavy so it will be tiring to carry and there’s limited space (but it does fit all of my essentials).

all in all, i still highly recommend this knitting activity! the whole experience is very fun and the result is a tangible product to bring home. since I have not tried knitting before, it feels much more reassuring with someone guiding me :)

the shop also sells ready made knitted bags which i think is super value for money considering the amount of labour put into it. I also got some crotchet keychains (190-220 baht) as they were so cute! definitely check this cafe out if u are into crotchet/knitting 🤠
