Last weekend I paid a visit to Hanjip to satisfy my kbbq cravings. This place has been on my list for the longest time as their ads kept popping up on my Instagram, so I was really excited to visit. Here’s a breakdown of what we had:
🥒 BANCHAN [foc]
Nothing really to rave about here, kimchi was dry af and didn’t taste fermented enough. The banchan in general wasn’t that big of a selection and most of them were so so.
🍲 SEAFOOD SOYBEAN PASTE [$20]
This was a 10/10. Completely nailed the soybean taste! Seafood taste was a little lacking but it’s nothing major.
🐖 PORK BELLY [$38]
Quality was above average but unfortunately our server charred it too much, causing a little bit of a smoky and bitter taste.
🥩 WAGYU BRISKET [$40]
My fav out of everything we ordered, this is also my fav cut of meat 🤤 It was cooked to perfection and we devoured this so quickly.
🥩 PRIME BONELESS SHORT RIB [$48]
Our server cooked this to a perfect medium rare. It was a good amount of fat without being too overpowering. This was also sooo good when you dip it in a little bit of salt.
Overall, food is above average but prices are also above average for kbbq. We paid close to $100/pp for everything but I thought it was pretty worth it as the meat served was of good quality. Unfortunately service wasn’t that great, it was difficult to catch the staff when you needed them 🥲. However I really enjoyed the food so this place will definitely be #MyGoTo for special occasions!
Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
