Aburi salmon don for ONLY $14 NETT?! 🤤🍣

Not gatekeeping #MyGoTo place for affordable and GOOD donburis at Umi Nami !!! This hidden gem in holland V doesn’t get crowded during lunch time so it’s super easy to get a seat (though I read that night time is a different story, it gets rly crowded!) With a wide variety of affordable rice bowls, from their famous bara chirashi don @ $11 to their unagi don @ $16, Umi Nami is the place to be!

What I like

🍥 had lunch at 1pm on a Friday and it was less than half full. Rly enjoyed the peace and quiet to catch up with my friend

🍥 they used to only accept cash but NOT ANYMORE! Now you get to order via the QR code after you’re seated and payment will be made through the website too (can Apple Pay so v convenient) and the price they show includes gst and all already so you won’t get a rude shock when carting out 🤩

🍥 salmon is fresh and cooked well. Also generous portions of salmon, proportionate to the amount of rice they give you. Love that 🤟🏼

🍥 tasty and worth the price paid! Have not seen a place with cheaper donburis and of this quality

I saw on google that they have quite a few negative reviews on poor service from a couple years ago but I have not experiences any negative encounters so far (I first ate here 4y ago!) there’s also minimal service here since everything is ordered online 🤣 the staff just greets you at the door, shows you your seat and serves your food, that’s about it and it doesn’t bother me!

Overall, Umi Nami is definitely THE place worth going again and again for all the jap food lovers who love a good rice bowl. 💛
