Self-sabotage refers to any behaviors or thoughts that hold you back from doing what you want to do! These behaviors/thought patterns can be incredibly sneaky and stop you from reaching your full potential. 💔

I’ve been a self-sabotager for a looong time and I didn’t even realize it! So many of my day-to-day behaviors and my general mentality were and honestly still are self-sabotaging. Over the past year, I’ve started to learn more about what self-sabotage really looks like… and it can be SUCH A SNAKE. 🐍

The first step to fixing any type of behavior is being able to identify them. Here are some of the small ways in which self-sabotage can manifest itself in our daily lives:

1. Procrastinating on tasks that are important to you

2. Talking negatively to yourself

3. Avoiding important situations that cause anxiety

4. Setting unrealistic standards for yourself that are impossible to meet

5. Engaging in unhealthy physical habits

6. Sabotaging your personal relationships (pushing people away)

7. Overcommitting and failing to set boundaries

8. Comparing yourself to others

9. Overthinking and being undecisive

10. Resisting growth and choosing to only be comfortable

11. Rejecting compliments and positive feedback

12. Not reaching out to others for help

13. Giving up on difficult tasks too soon

14. Constantly feeling regret and thinking about past mistakes

15. Being unreliable to yourself and the people you care about
