My induction turned into a c section after I was induced at 39 weeks. I knew a c section would be a harder recovery so here’s everything I did to make sure I recovered carefully!

Walking - I didn’t expect to have so much swelling in my legs after my c section. My doctor told me to walk around daily, which is exactly what I did. Not only did it help reduce the swelling but I healed faster than expected!

Feet up - along with movement comes rest. Keeping my feet up and resting also helped the swelling and recovery. I made sure to never over do it and prioritize resting.

Nutritious meals - it may be tough to cook with a newborn and while recovering. It’s important to have your partner, parents, or whoever is able to help out, make nutrient dense meals to aid in your recovery. It’s also great if you’re breastfeeding!

Massage Scar - this step certainly comes after your scar is healed, however massaging it will help break up scar tissue and bring feeling back to the area. I use the same oil I used on my pregnant belly to do this.
